Hi there!
I’m Ilana (she/her) and I am a New York City-based actor and singer. I discovered my love for theatre and musical theatre through my high school’s drama department, CAT (Cupertino Actors’ Theatre). From there, I went on to receive a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance from Chico State University.
As a Bay Area, CA native, I have a passion for the beach and bubble milk tea! After graduation, I decided to head back to the Bay to be with my family and embark on my professional theatre odyssey. I had a blast working with theatre companies such as Berkeley Playhouse and Cabrillo Stage: Summer Musical Theatre Festival.
Leaving my family in CA to further pursue my career in the East Coast was a tough decision because my family members are my best friends. We are a Mizrahi/Ashkenazi Jewish household, making me half Middle Eastern (Israeli/Iraqi) and half European Jewish (Ukrainian/Russian). Being born into a family where every single one of my ancestors were kicked out of their homes meant I grew up surrounded by tales of resilience, hope, and survival. As an empath, I use the emotions I feel from my family’s wins and losses as a vehicle for self-expression throughout my craft.
